Volunteer

 

If you wouldl like to volunteer in your child's classroom, a current TB test is required. The TB test is good for four years. Please submit a volunteer form and current TB test with negative result to the school office. Once the form is cleared, you will be eligible to volunteer for four years. If you were cleared within the last three years, a new volunteer form is not necessary as long as you have a current TB test on file. Any questions, call the school office.

 

 

There are many different ways to get involved and volunteer at Green HillsSchool. We can use help in the classrooms, office, lunch room, and with school-wide events and efforts.

  • Classrooms - Kindergarten, first and second grade teachers encourage parents to help on a regular basis in the classroom with small groups and projects like xeroxing, collating and cutting. Contact your child's teacher to be incorporated into the classroom schedule.
  • Field Trips- Second, third, fourth and fifth grade classes take field trips each year and need drivers and chaperones. Whenever a field trip is scheduled, a permission slip will go home, requesting volunteers.
  • Special projects and holiday parties - each teacher requests volunteers to serve as room parents. Room parents will help plan and coordinate parties and support the whole school by making phone calls to ask for assistance with PTA events, such as Game Night, Mother/Son Baseball and Father/Daughter Dance.
  • PTA - The Parent Teacher's Association has a volunteer coordinator, Christina Spicker, who recruits and coordinates volunteers for all school events. Sign-up sheets are available on the first day of school and at Back-to-School Night. If you would like to volunteer, please fill out our volunteer form and return it to your child's teacher.
  • MEF - Millbrae Education Foundation - Each year MEF raises funds to support educational programs that have been eliminated due to lack of state funding. If you would like to volunteer and join the MEF team, please visit their website, www. millbraeeducationfoundation.org.

    The most valued donation is the gift of time. Whether you are able to help during the school day or in the evening with clerical projects, we truly appreciate your support. It makes a difference in the lives of our students.

     

    You can donate to a teacher/classroom or the school by making a check payable to Green HIlls School.

     

    You can donate to the PTA by making a check payable to Green HIlls PTA. PTA donations are used to support current projects which include school supplies, technology, field trips, assemblies, and school-wide events.

     

    You can donate to the Millbrae Education Foundation by making a check payable to Millbrae Education Foundation. Current funding projects include fifth grade Instrumental music and instructional aides for primary grades.
